Mixed media encaustic art by Ottawa artist Susan Ukkola.
Encaustic art involves fusing a thick, translucent layer of beeswax to a milk paint-primed panel and then scraping to reveal marks. As you can see from the attached photos there are many different layers, images and colours involved in this piece.
Size is 10 inches wide by 8 inches high, this unnamed piece is signed on the back by the artist "Demo Ukkola 2012"
Asking only $60 for this nice piece of local art, selling only because I have 3 other pieces by her and not enough wall space ;-)
