**If the ad is still up, the bike is still available for sale!! :) **
Want to ride around town in style? Sick of all those "new era" wannabe cruiser bikes? Then here's an original retro cruiser for you!
All original 1962 (based on date on rear hub) Raleigh Superbe 3 speed Men's bicycle! (although I don't discriminate, and it's small enough for an average lady to ride ;) )
Frame size is about a 56cm (TT length) and about 78cm off the ground (top of top tube, AKA the nut cracker)
**this bike is all original!
Built in Nottingham, with high tensile steel tubing (aka not the lightest, but strong as a tank!)
Original brooks leather saddle
Dynamo built into front wheel that powers headlight and taillight (working 100% with original bulbs!)
Locking front fork (sorry no key...someone lost it over the course of the past few decades lol)
3 speed sturmey archer internally geared hub with single finger shifter mounted on bars
Original pedals with rubber inserts
Fenders, rack on rear,
Class and character through the roof!
Just an overall eye catching vintage & retro ride!
My price; Only $295. LOCALS PREFERRED. The shipping would be ridiculous as these old bikes were made to last and weigh a bit!
So why am I letting this go for much less than the average market price for these gorgeous bikes? (Normally going for $550-600) Well the bike isn't PERFECT. First, the brooks saddle, although original, has seen its years of use. Worn around the edges, and the seam going width wise has split. It may be repairable, but it can be ridden as is. Also, it has a few knicks and scrapes from all the years. Nothing serious, and 90-95% of the original paint is there! The tires could be replaced after all these years too!
You must remember, the bike is OLD and has character! It's not some new shop bike that anyone can pick up. This thing is unique, and I will be darned if you'll find many others like it in the city!
PS the photo is the ACTUAL BIKE! (I am an amateur photographer, so I like to take quality pics! ;) Email me for the full size if desired or come check it out!)
